Mr. Osbert Felix, the founder and Manager of 'Sun Flavor Humanitarian Food Aid Programme' in Petite Martinique registered the programme on the 8th March 2002 with the Registrar Supreme Court Registry in St. George’s Grenada West Indies.

Mr. Felix created this programme with the vision of exploring ways of creating products from our local produce for the benefit of our country. Sunflavor Humanitarian Programme works in collaboration with the Grenada produce chemist laboratory and the Grenada Food and Nutrition Council for testing and developing recipe for flour products.

Flour, is seen as an essential product and can be produced from different types of root crops. Mr. Felix uses Dasheen, Eddoes, Greendy, Green Banana, Plantain, Bread Fruit, Sweet Potatoe, Tannia, Yam and his all time favorite Bluggoe to produce a high quality flour that is rich in nutritional values. This flour can be used in the preparation of many dishes including poridges for babies six months and over, homemade gravy, pastries, milk punch's etc.

The process of manufacturing flour from root crop products involves 5 stages;

  1. Purchasing the the raw material.
  2. Preparation of raw material.
  3. Drying.
  4. Grounding.
  5. Packaging.

Sunflavor Humanitarian Programme hopes to contribute to the diversification of the agriculture industry creating employment and encouraging entrepreneurship in Petite Martinique, at the same time it would add value to Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique Root Crop farmers.

So far the programmed has recieved assistance from the Visitor's on Island, The Agriculture Department in Carriacou, Marketing and National importing board (MNIB), IT Technician Mr. Brian Clement, Mrs. Petronilla Caesar, Mrs. Crona Decoteau and Mr. Leroy Felix.

The challenges we face is raising enough money to endow a constant supply of raw material, acquiring a larger mill for faster and smoother grounding, maintaining a stock of packaging materials, factory shelf and additional drying equipment. So to ensure the continuation and growth of this spectacular venture Mr. Felix is soliciting individuals, groups, companies or organistions for financial donations.

Help us provide the humanitarian and nutritional needs to the Children, Ederly, Church's, Senior Citerzen Homes, School Feeding Programmes and Hospitals throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Your help/assistance to our venture means a lot.
